Our goal is simple and achievable. Poverty in developing countries is severe and it is impossible to help the multitude, but we know that through our efforts we can make a positive difference to the lives of some and that is a worthy achievement, just as in the ‘Starfish poem’ below.
Great Expectations charity was setup in 2015. Its mission statement is to set up and/or assist in improving schools in under privileged countries, and to start with in Tanzania as that is a country where the Trustees already have established links which will greatly facilitate the charitable endeavour.It is an opportunity to make a difference to young lives which will have positive repercussions for generations to come. We welcome all support, however little.

Elerai School, Arusha, Tanzania
A school in the slum areas of Arusha town. Over 1000 children from the slum attend this school and share less than 10 classrooms by attending the school in shifts. The school has the most basic of facilities. GE's current project is to build 2 or more classrooms and gradually improve the facilities at the school.
